Is it necessary to re-sign the contract after a tenant renewal?
Yes, at the final step of the renewal process, the system will guide you to handle the contract signing for the new lease term. This ensures that the updated terms, such as a new rent amount or lease duration, are formally documented.
You will be presented with the same three flexible options that are available during a new tenancy creation:
Please note: To use the electronic signature features (Options 2 and 3), you will need to purchase the E-Signature Add-On from the "Subscription" section.
Option 1: Upload a Scanned Copy
This option is for when you already have a fully signed physical contract for the renewal term.
- How it Works: Simply select this option and upload a digital copy of the signed agreement.
Option 2: Upload a Completed Document and Send for Electronic Signature
Choose this option when you have a prepared, filled-out renewal contract that just needs to be signed.
- How it Works: Upload the completed contract document. The system will then guide you through the process of placing signature fields and sending it to the relevant parties for electronic signing.
Option 3: Create an Electronic Contract from a Template
This is the best option when you want to generate a new, standardized contract for the renewal period directly within the system.
- How it Works: Select an appropriate contract template. The system will automatically populate it with the details from the Renewed Tenancy to generate a new electronic contract, which you can then send for signing.
Important Note: Any contract generated or uploaded during this step will be associated with the new Renewed Tenancy information, not the original tenancy.
